Hannah Ida Curry was known as H. Ida Curry. She was born January, 1868 and died November 27, 1964. She began her career in child welfare work in New York, and later moved to Washington, D.C. As a great social pioneer of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, she was one of the founders and first president of the Child Welfare League of America.
